Training and Classes

Tuesday and Friday's 18:30 till 20:00
Training at Blyth Shotokan Karate Club takes place on Tuesday and Friday evenings and is split into two classes the Tigers class for juniors and the senior class;
This class has been especially designed to bring younger children involved with karate and is open to members aged from 5 to 8 years old. This class runs from 18:30 till 19:30 simultaneously alongside the senior class.
This class also has its own specially designed grading system which allows its students to progress to the junior Black Belt Tag and also offers a host of other activities and games which cater to the younger members of the club.
When students of the tigers class reach the age of 8 they are automatically entered into the senior class and are able to join the senior grading system whilst taking their respective tag grade with them into the senior class.
The senior class aims to encompass all aspects of karate be that traditional or sport, advanced or novice. The class is open to all members over the age of 8 and runs from 18:30 till 20:00, however, parents with children taking part in the Tigers Class may leave at 19:30 if they wish to accompany their children.
Whilst emphasisng the progression through the ASK grading system the senior class also looks at other training methods out side of the ASK syllabus including all things from sport kumite dirlls and fitness regimes to advanced kata bunkai and reality-based combat tutorials.
